We finally met!

6-7 October, the partners in the URB_ART project met in Iceland. Reykjavík Ensemble, an international theatre company, hosted the meeting in Reykjavík, a vibrant cultural capital at the very edge of the Arctic Circle. For the first time since the launch of the project, the representatives of EDUCULT (Austria), Filmworks Trust (UK), Proportional Message (Portugal), Reykjavík Ensemble (Iceland) have met in person, and the researchers from ZRC SAZU (Slovenia) joined the group via online calling.

The two-day session focused on the results of our recent research activity: Baseline Survey on Transdisciplinary and Multilingual Urban Arts Education, in which we investigated the needs, challenges and successful practices in the arts education of adults in urban settings. Our next step will be translating the gathered data into a reader-friendly publication: a Compendium of storytelling resources, followed by an online campaign designed to promote the most effective Urban Arts Education trends. Based on the research results, the education specialists in our team will prepare pedagogical tools and courses for art educators, as a part of the In-Service training package on Urban Arts Education.

With the recent climate, we see a great value in meeting our partners face-to-face. Our next gathering will be in March 2022 in Portugal. We look forward to seeing our partners again!

The project is supported by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
